Takaya Tours

Takaya Tours was incorporated on April 7, 2000 as a means of realizing the Tsleil-Waututh Nationís goals of sustainable economic development, cultural preservation and increased community employment opportunities.  The directors of Takaya Tours are made up of Chief and Council and Lori Simcox and Justin George, members of the TWN EcDev Staff, oversee its management. A qualified kayak and oceangoing canoe operations manager is employed to implement training, supervise employees and run day-to-day activities during the summer months.

All programs take place throughout the Tsleil-Waututh traditional territory. More specifically, Takaya Tours offers a variety of kayaking and canoeing courses, lessons and tours that meet the needs of a varied market. Accordingly, most tours are centered on learning the history of the Coast Salish people.
